Antigua and Barbuda

These twin islands are almost completely surrounded by shipwrecks, walls and coral reefs. At most dive sites around the islands there is little to no current and the water temperature averages about 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Dive depths here usually range from 25 to 80 feet. Snorkeling is also possible , as visibility ranges as far as 140 feet. For this reason, photographers love swimming here as well. Barbuda is, however, less developed than Antigua, so divers will need to go to the more inhabited island to be supplied with gear.

We’re traveling to Bonaire in November and I can’t wait to get into the water. I snorkel frequently but hope to learn SCUBA. I’m a Floridian and we’ve traveled to the island frequently but this is our first time to Bonaire. Love the Dutch islands. They are so friendly and clean.
