Cruise Aboard the New Norwegian Escape

Sometimes bigger is better! At least according to those who have visited the new Norwegian Escape. Cruise aboard the newest of the Norwegian cruises on the Norwegian Escape and you will know what we are talking about! Christened earlier this month by rapper Armondo Perez, also known as Pitbull, this magnificent creation is 1,098 feet long, which is longer than the Eiffel Tower is tall, and has 20 decks to explore. The Escape is the 5th largest cruise vessel accommodating 4,248 passengers and 1,651 crew members! That’s 1 crew member for every 2.5 guests! The sheer size of this vessel will take your breath away. Plus, with all the added space, the Escape has plenty to offer their passengers.

If the size of this ship doesn’t impress you, the amenities certainly will. What is really remarkable is that the Norwegian Escape has an area designed to appease those who prefer a smaller ship atmosphere but still want to enjoy all the amenities that the larger ships have to offer.  The Norwegian Escape’s Haven area is kind of like a smaller ship within a large vessel. Here you will get a private key card to enter and inside you will find 24 hour butler service, private sundecks, concierge service, and private amenities like a Haven only pool, hot tub area, and dining services. Thus, if you enjoy being around fewer people for the most part but still want to attend the extravagant shows and clubs, book a room in the Haven.

Another outstanding amenity aboard the Escape is their dining options. On board the Escape you will have 28 different restaurants to choose from, 74 different types of beer on tap, and the Cellars wine bar featuring Michael Mondavi wines. In other words, if you’re a foodie like me, the longer you book the better so you can try it all; 28 restaurants, 74 beers, and tons of wine options can be difficult to pull off in just a few days. However, if you’re truly a foodie and want to try it all, you have to try Food Republic first! Here you will find plenty to choose from in their Las Vegas/New York style theme with food from around the globe. You can also find plenty of beer on tap at the District Brewhouse for anyone who enjoys tasting hand crafted beer. One thing is for certain, you have to try a restaurant on the waterfront promenade. In several of the Escapes dining areas you have the option of taking your food and drink outside and enjoy the sunny outdoors while dining on the waterfront promenade. Even though I could go on and on for days about the Escape’s dining options, I have to mention the entertainment on board at some point.

If you are looking for something thrilling, Norwegian cruises have you covered.  Some of their more unique features would include their snow room which is located in the spa area. The snow room features falling snow and plenty of it for those of you who want a unique Norwegian thrill. You can also enjoy a 3 story high ropes course, Broadway style shows, comedy shows, or an 80’s themed supper club experience. The possibilities are truly endless!
