Visit the Beautiful Americas with Oceania Cruises on a Panama Canal Cruise

One example of the great itineraries offered by Oceania Cruises is the 18-day Panama Canal itinerary that visits some ports that are not accessible by the larger ships. Oceania Regatta is a mid-sized ship, so it can do things the larger cruise lines can not. One perk with Oceania, while in port, often the ship stays in port overnight which means you get to go out and enjoy the nightlife during your cruise vacation. Onboard an Oceania ship expect to be served up the finest cuisine. Also, enjoy relaxed elegance, spacious rooms, and service beyond your expectations.

With so much to do while in Roatan,  Honduras, it’s best to arrange a tour. Tourism Roatan has many suggestions. If you are looking for a place to relax on the beach with cocktail service, a massage with views of the ocean, or maybe say your “I dos” or renew your vows in a memorable place.

After spending a day cruising the Caribbean Sea, your next day will be spent in the densely vegetative city of Puerto Limon, Costa Rica. Tortuguero Wildlife Tours offers a great tour that takes you on a wildlife adventure combined with a banana plantation tour (everyone raves about this tour). There are also cocoa, pineapple, and coffee plantation tours available.

The highlight of this trip is the transition from the Caribbean Sea to the Pacific Ocean transitioning through the Panama Canal locks. Be sure to try the delicious local cuisine at El Trapiche while in Fuerte Amador (Balboa), Panama.

After a day cruising the Pacific Ocean, you’ll arrive in  Manta, Ecuador. If you can, take the quick flight to Quito and head to the equator memorial where you can take that moment to straddle two hemispheres at one time.

Stop in at La Casa di Carlo for their most popular dish of Fettucine Mar e Montagna when in port in Guayaquil, Ecuador.

While in Salaverry, Peru, you may want to take an excursion to the temple ruins, visit the museums, and a walking tour to discover all the colors, aromas, flavors, and dance of Peru.

Since your final destination is Lima, Peru, it would be highly recommended to add on a post-cruise stay in Machu Picchu in order to see one of the Seven Wonders of the World. While it can be done in a day with a flight from the ship, we recommend you allow more time to explore this amazing city on a hill.
