Top restaurants in Barcelona during your Mediterranean cruise

As one of our favorite ports on a Mediterranean cruise, Barcelona offers not only beautiful sites and a look into history, but amazing food to match the experience. From traditional Spanish and Mediterranean cuisine to more modern restaurants, Barcelona has thousands of places to eat.

You may wish you had more time to spend eating out in Barcelona, but there are many more stops to visit on your European cruise, so we’ve selected a few of our favorites to help you make a decision on where to dine, and hopefully make the most out of your time in this Spanish port.

In no particular order, here are our top eight places to eat in Barcelona:

Dos Palillos – A traditional tapas restaurant with a twist, Dos Pallilos blends tapas with Asian cuisine for a unique dining experience. Head chef and owner, Albert Raurich, blends his passion for Japanese, Chinese and Vietnamese foods with a popular Spanish dining style that delivers gyoza, tempura and other Asian gourmet items in a way few have tried before.

Giraluna – An Italian twist in the heart of Spain, Giraluna offers a more unique take on Italian food that has guests raving long after their meal. This is a restaurant for pasta lovers, but has a Mediterranean bend to it.

Passadís del Pep – For those unsure of what they want to eat, Passadís del Pep offers a unique experience. With no menus, patrons are treated to an evolving offering of the chef’s specialties every night. All dishes are prepared with the freshest seafood and vegetables of the day, whether it’s squid or sea snail.

Restaurante Lasarte – For a romantic Spanish dinner, Lasarte is the place to go. Visitors can enjoy a creative menu and wine list while indulging in Martín Berasategui’s amazing Basque-influenced cooking.

Salterio – Spain is often noted for its Moroccan influences, and Slaterio is the perfect place to explore where European and African cuisine meet. This restaurant offers a hidden gem in the heart of the gothic quarter, with a vintage look and amazing food.

Spoonik – Spoonik offers a unique dining experience in Barcelona. With English speaking staff and rave-reviewed meal options, Spoonik is a place for indulgence on your cruise. Spoonik does not provide traditional restaurant services, but rather patrons book a private dining experience to have their meal prepared and served by their own private chef.

Una Mas – For those preferring to spend time in Barcelona’s bar scene, Una Mas is the best spot in the city. Located near the Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona, you can spend the afternoon viewing the art before enjoying a cocktail or other beverage. The drink list includes something for everyone, and has an inviting atmosphere that will keep you there all night even if you’re stopping in “just for one drink.”

Zensai – Barcelona is famed for being one of the world’s best cultural hotspots and Zensai drives that point home. For those looking to enjoy Japanese cuisine on their Mediterranean cruise, this is the spot to come to. From sushi to sake, eat an amazing meal while enjoying the modern Japanese decor.

These are just a few of our favorite places to eat and drink in Barcelona. Now that we’ve gotten you hungry for Mediterranean food, here are a couple cruises that will get you there.
