Looking for the top excursions in Hawaii’s Island of Kauai? Look no further, we have found 5 of the most amazing excursions for you to check out.

There is certainly no place like the Hawaiian Islands, and arriving here on a cruise ship is an experience that just cannot be beat.

Choosing to spend time on the central island of Kauai, you’ll be surrounded by spectacular beauty. This is the fourth largest in the Hawaiian archipelago. Part of the true beauty here is that it is not as developed as several other islands, as only 20 percent of it is accessible by car or foot. This adds to its authentic feel and offers visitors a true taste of this Pacific paradise.

A memorable way to see the wonders of Kauai is from a relaxing view from above on a unique flightseeing tour. This six-passenger helicopter is equipped with mega-windows, allowing an amazing 180-degree unobstructed view with its Skylight windows which provide vertical viewing, and two-way intercoms with the pilot during the tour. This tour departs from Lihue Airport and flies over the island’s most popular landmarks such as the Manawaipuna Waterfall, well-known for being the Jurassic Park Waterfall, The Olokele and Waimea Canyon, which has been compared to the Grand Canyon of the Pacific as well as the Kokee State Park and the picturesque valleys along the Napali Coastline. Hope for good weather so you can view the spectacular Mount Waialeale Crater, which is the wettest spot on earth with more than 450 inches of waterfall each year. This 100+ mile tour is approximately 55-60 minutes. Transportation is provided from the cruise pier.

ATV WATERFALLL TOUR WITH PICNIC

See the terrain of this enchanting island up close and personal in an ATV vehicle. After instruction and practice for both experienced and novice riders, set out on an adventure of the island with its challenging terrain, picture-perfect setting – and even famous movie locations. Tour guides are experts here and entertain guests with their thorough knowledge of the history and folklore here, from the indigenous vegetation and the best spots for capturing amazing photos, as well as the best spot at a private waterfall for the picnic lunch. Enjoy the Indiana Jones rope swing and splash into the tropical spring-fed waterfall. Time and weather permitting take a swim in two locations and enjoy the natural setting at its finest. This excursion last 4-1/2 hours.

DISCOVER SCUBA DIVING

With all of the majestic beauty of the island’s terrain, there is still more to see underwater with the fun of scuba diving. Start out by taking the PADI Discover Scuba Diving program which provides the fundamental rules and guidelines of a safe scuba diving and a brief introduction to diving’s basic skills. Following the instruction, enjoy a dive in a calm, shallow location under the close supervision of an instructor. Enjoy watching octopus, Hawaiian green sea turtles, moorish idols, parrot fish, Humu Humu Nuku Nuku A-pua’a (Hawaii’s state fish!), and many more exotic tropical fish. Excursion lasts 2-1/2 hours and includes tanks and weights for all guided tours. Other equipment is available for rent on site.

WAIMEA CANYON – A PRIVATE TOUR

Who would have thought this island is home to Waimea Canyon and reminds many of the Grand Canyon?  Known for its reddish lava beds, this unique canyon was created by streams of lava flowing into a single river that carved it out. This excursion stops at three separate viewing points for the ultimate views, including the Waimea Canyon Lookout, which is ideal for breathtaking photos to send back home and the Lakalau Valley Lookout where the canyon drops 4,000 feet to the ocean into a valley surrounded by ragged cliffs decorated with waterfalls. Thirdly, a stop at Hanapepe Valley Lookout takes in an incredible view hemmed in by red cliffs. This excursion is four hours.
