Florida Gives You The Most Cruise Port Choices

ATTENTION: This blog was recently updated with new information in August 2019.

A peninsula state like Florida means the ocean is accessible from anywhere, and that means there are lots of ports to cruise from. If you live in Florida, you are fortunate indeed.

Happy Traveler Comment
This past Dec., we went on a family cruise to the Caribbean. I was very glad I booked the cruise using CruiseExperts.com. Jeremy was just fantastic. We went on board and forgot to print out our excursions but she came through in just hours to make sure we got our tickets. The staff is very quick at responding and for the great price, worth it all the way. Thanks CruiseExperts.com for giving us this great chance to enjoy something we always thought was way beyond our means. — Jane W.

Florida has more ports from which to cruise than any other state.  In fact, there are five — Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Tampa and Port Canaveral.  And with Miami being recognized as “The Cruising Capital of the World” your options are extensive.

Ready to go?

Below we’ve listed all the cruise ship ports in Florida and helpful links including the cruises to the Bahamas or Caribbean destinations.

OK, here’s the rundown on the five ports in Florida…

PORT OF MIAMI
If you’re sailing out of Miami, you can fly into either Miami or Ft. Lauderdale. The closest airport to the Port of Miami is the Miami International Airport which is just a 17-minute drive away. From Ft. Lauderdale expect about a 40-minute drive. To make it easier, we can reserve your shuttle from either airport and include it in your cruise package.

Lauderdale, you can fly into either Miami or Ft. Lauderdale. From the Ft. Lauderdale International Airport you can expect about an 11-minute drive and shuttles can be reserved with your cruise package. If you would prefer to fly into the Miami International Airport it is about a 40-minute drive away. Again, we can arrange the transfers for you.  Check out the Port Everglades Cruise Guide.
