What Should I Wear on an Alaska Cruise?<\/p><\/div>\n

Alaska cruises<\/a> and cruisetours <\/a>are only available during Alaska\u2019s warm season from May-September. The temperature during this time ranges between 55 \u2013 70 degrees but it often feels much warmer than that because there are longer hours of direct sunlight. It\u2019s also important to note that the deeper into summer you get the more it rains. With all of these factors playing a roll layers are always the best option.<\/p>\n

Layering Up <\/strong><\/p>\n

Your first layer should be something thin that keeps moisture from reaching your skin. People often think of long johns but I recommend something you feel comfortable wearing alone. Just in case it gets a little warmer. Another tip for the ladies, I like to wear panty hose under everything!<\/p>\n

When determining the second layer you should keep the words warm and lightweight in mind. You don\u2019t want to weigh yourself down with too many clothes but warmth is important here! A light weight fleece sweater is always the perfect choice for me.<\/p>\n

The last layer should be waterproof and have a hood. Investing in some good nylon pants, you can find these at your local sporting goods store, is a great idea as well. The key here is making sure you don\u2019t get your other layers wet, which will really make you miserable.<\/p>\n

What Should I Wear on an Alaska Cruise?<\/p><\/div>\n

Accessories<\/strong><\/p>\n

Beyond the simple layering, here\u00a0are a few essentials you should not forget:<\/p>\n

Sunscreen<\/strong>: The Alaskan sun could be more damaging than you think<\/p>\n

Chap Stick<\/strong>: \u00a0<\/strong>The cold wind can make for very dry lips.<\/p>\n

Gloves<\/strong>: I don\u2019t know about you, but I hate cold hands! Just makes the rest of my body feel colder. I usually bring a few pairs of gloves.<\/p>\n

Shoes<\/strong>: Invest in some waterproof shoes and bring an extra\u00a0pair just to be safe! The most miserable\u00a0thing ever is cold, wet feet.<\/p>\n

Umbrella<\/strong>: This doesn\u2019t have to be fancy and you may never need it but it\u2019s good to have, just in case.<\/p>\n
