All countries update their visa requirements periodically. Australia and New Zealand have recently made changes in their visa requirements that affect U.S, citizens. There are new stipulations to receive an Australia visa for U.S. citizens. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those who are traveling for tourism or business are eligible to apply for an electronic travel authorization (ETA) at airlines, travel agents Australia’s online Visa website, and Australian visa offices. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

To\nqualify for an ETA or any visa you must meet the following requirements to\ntravel to Australia:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Valid passport – expiration date must be more\nthan three months from Australia arrival date <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Have no disease that poses a public health\nrisk for Australian citizens <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Require no medical care or services that deny\nAustralian citizens to the same <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 No prior criminal record <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Might be required to submit to a medical examination to ensure you are in compliance with Australia’s health requirements <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ETA allows you to remain in Australia for three, six, or twelve months. The time allotment is dependent on what you applied for and what was approved. The ETA can be used to enter Australia multiple times during its validity time and as long as your passport is still valid. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When applying for your ETA<\/a>, make sure the information you enter matches your passport. If a discrepancy is found, it can invalidate your visa and result in you being denied entry into Australia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After\ncompleting your ETA application online, you will receive it in approximately\nthree working days. Be sure to check spam and junk mail folders if it hasn’t\narrived. Keep a copy on your cellphone and print a copy to take to the airport\nwhen you arrive in Australia. Entry to the country requires both documents. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Zealand Visa Requirements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The New Zealand Visa Requirements<\/a> are new for U.S. citizens as of October 1, 2019. Under the visa waiver program, all U.S. citizens will be required to obtain a New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This\nrequirement is for cruise passengers as well as visitors arriving by other forms\nof transportation. After applying, it can take as long as 72 hours for the\nprocessing of your NZeTA. It’s wise to apply well in advance of your expected\narrival in New Zealand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once\nyou receive your NZeTA, it’s valid for multiple visits for two years. The\napplication system will be available starting July 19th. You can apply on the\nNew Zealand web site or through the mobile app. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
