Day 1 Passau, Germany (Embarkation)

The breathtaking city of Passau welcomes you as you leave your flight and board your vessel this afternoon. If your flight gets in early enough, you may want to peruse the grounds a bit and grab a souvenir at one of the local shops. Just before 5pm, you will greet your crew at the welcoming reception for a delightful dinner. (Dinner)

Day 2 Passau – Linz, Austria

The beautiful city of Passau is known as the Three Rivers City because of its interconnecting routes through the rivers Danube, Inn, and IIz. This breathtaking city awaits you with its 13th-century hilltop fortress that gathers a pristine observation tower and bold baroque-style museum. You will be dazzled by St. Stephens Cathedral, with its 17,974 pipes and onion-bloomed towers. A guided walking tour will take you through the rest of this fascinating city just before you head to your vessel. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 3 Linz, Austria

About 18 miles from the Czech border, and the third largest city in Austria, Linz is a timeless town you’ll not soon forget. This remarkable city is known for its rich innovative art and musical roots and is the UNESCO City of Media Arts with its contemporary sculptures and fascinating industrial designs. The Pflasterspektakel street fair is a popular event that has taken the city by storm for over 27 years, and one of the most highlighted events of the summer. Take a guided tour around the cities rich historical landmarks such as the 13th-century Hauptplatz, the largest medieval square in Austria, and the Theater Phonix, showcasing contemporary authors and classic works of art. Join a guided tour to learn about these historic sites or wander the grounds on your own and discover Austria’s largest church that holds over 20,000 visitors, the neo-gothic New Cathedral. Day 4 Melk–Durnstein

As your vessel cruises through the Danube River to the Wachau Valley, you will enter the enchanted city of Melk. This quaint place sits high on a rocky outcrop that overlooks the Danube River. The Benedictine Abbey, the most popular attraction and Austria’s monastic house built in the year 1089, also overlooks the Danube. The Imperial Staircase, adornedy by carefully decorated banisters with cherubs and stone statues, and an octagonal entrance gate are superb and overflow with a baroque sensation that takes you on a trip through time. Gothic statues of St. Koloman and St. Leopold stand triumphantly at each side of the gate welcoming you inside. You will be amazed at the many medieval manuscripts and dramatic frescoed ceilings. Day 5 Vienna

This morning, let the “City of Music” dazzle you with its musical ambience. Here, you will get up close and personal with famous classical geniuses such as Beethoven, Strauss, and Mozart. Vienna, the capital of magnificent Austria, offers an array of festivities such as the Vienna Festival which showcases a brilliant and talented collection of musicians from all over the world to star in Vienna’s City Hall Square. Next to the Imperial Palace, where you can view the creative works of Austrian modern art at the Leopold Museum. Browse elegant brands and experience the local culture while shopping at the Golden Quarter, one of Vienna’s new luxury shopping centers. A guided tour will take you on an exciting stroll through the Viennese Heurige, a cozy off-the-cuff wine ‘tavern’ that has a warm and inviting atmosphere. You will experience the very best of Vienna’s fine wine! Spend some time at a local coffee shop in the Old City, partaking in one of Vienna’s pleasantries-enjoying soothing piano music and indulging in an Apfestrudel before heading back to your vessel for dinner.
