The Maasdam cruises through the famous Inside Passage on day 16. It’s one of the greatest cruising routes in the world. Your ship leaves the “Last Frontier” and heads for Vancouver, B.C., Canada. Vancouver is one of the most culturally and geographically diverse cities in the world. We recommend our guests take our Northwest Exploration & Suspension Bridge tour. You will experience a panoramic drive on your way to Capilano Park for a treetop adventure. As you cross the Capilano Suspension bridge you have an opportunity to see a variety of bird and animal species that live in the woods.
Your next port is Victoria, British Columbia, Canada where you can join an orca whale-watching tour, enjoy high tea at the Pendray Mansion, or explore the famous Butchart Gardens.
The next day enjoy cruising through the narrow Alberni Inlet on your way to Port Alberni, British Columbia, Canada. This seldom-visited port can be explored on one of the 100 plus hiking trails, or you can choose to enjoy a delicious glass of pinot noir at a local winery.

The Maasdam’s final port stop before returning to San Francisco is at Astoria, Oregon. Your epic Alaska voyage brings you to the small city of Astoria (population 10,000). This city has lots of things to do, but a “must” is our Wine and Seafood tour. Join Chef Chris Holen at the Baked Alaska private event annex for a seafood demonstration and wine tasting.
If you are unable to make the May 7, 2019, departure, Maasdam features two similar 21-day sailings on May 28, 2019, and June 18, 2019. Both departures replace a call at Victoria with a call at Anchorage, Alaska where guests can hike, bike and see wildlife such as the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail or Flattop Mountain Trail inside Chugach State Park.
