New Zealand Visa Requirements
The New Zealand Visa Requirements are new for U.S. citizens as of October 1, 2019. Under the visa waiver program, all U.S. citizens will be required to obtain a New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA).
This requirement is for cruise passengers as well as visitors arriving by other forms of transportation. After applying, it can take as long as 72 hours for the processing of your NZeTA. It’s wise to apply well in advance of your expected arrival in New Zealand.
Once you receive your NZeTA, it’s valid for multiple visits for two years. The application system will be available starting July 19th. You can apply on the New Zealand web site or through the mobile app.
