Aloha! Getting ready for a cruise to Kona? Kona, one of the two largest cruise ports on the big island of Hawaii, is packed full of wonderful adventures just waiting for you to discover. Discover the Local Culture: The Hawaiian Islands are full of culture and Kona is no exemption. Why not enjoy this culture like the locals? Kona is well known for its coffee, Kona is actually dubbed Coffee Country for many, so while you are in town make sure to indulge! Kona offers coffee tastings and tours through the most famous coffee farms of the area. Not a huge coffee fan? Try the Kona Brewpub or the Kona Farmers Market for some other yummy treats. The Kona Farmer Market is open Wednesday through Sunday, so the chances are pretty good that you will be able to enjoy it.

There is way more to their culture than just the food. Don’t miss the opportunity to check out the petroglyph preserves. The Waikoloa and Pukao petroglyph preserves are both amazing sites to explore! There are several in Kona and what better way to enjoy the island than with a buffet of amazing local dishes while watching a Luau!

Water Activities: If you are a water lover you will have plenty to do on your Hawaii cruise.  Charter a boat and spend the day whales and dolphins in their natural habitat. Relax on some of the most amazing beaches America has to offer. Take a surfing lesson, go snorkeling, or try out scuba diving! If you are really adventurous try parasailing for those who like their water activities a little more relaxing try sport fishing! Kona has it all when it comes to water adventures.

Land Activities: If you are up for a land adventure Kona has that option too. One of the more popular sports for tourists is zip-lining above the Kona canopy. Really want to see Kona from above? Take a helicopter tour and see the islands beautiful waterfalls and volcanos. If you are looking for something a little more romantic, try horseback riding on the beach!
