New Cunard Ship

New Cunard ShipNew Cunard Ship Launching in 2022

Cunard, one of the most popular luxury cruise lines, has announced that a new ship will be joining the royal lineup in 2022. Cunard is known for its tradition of timeless elegance, luxurious amenities, and superlative service in the finest British tradition. The new Cunard ship will be the largest vessel in the luxury cruise line’s history, with a hefty 113,000 gross weight and room for up to 3,000 guests. Cunard’s new luxury liner will be the first new build ship to join the magnificent fleet in twelve years, since the Queen Elizabeth debuted in 2010.

Carnival Corporation, Cunard’s parent company, has signed a memorandum of agreement with the Fincantieri shipyard in northern Italy, which is currently building ships for Seabourn, Viking, and MSC Cruises. There is no word yet what the new Cunard ship name will be. She will become the fourth member of Cunard’s fleet, joining Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria, and Queen Elizabeth. Once the ship is launched, it will be the first time since 1998 that the cruise line will have four ships in simultaneous service. The new cruise ship will be the 249th ship to fly the Cunard flag since the luxury cruise brand’s founding in 1839.

This is the latest step in Cunard’s ambitious upgrade program, launched in recent years to bring the luxury cruise line to greater prominence in the marketplace. More than one million people gathered to celebrate the iconic cruise line’s 175th Anniversary in 2015. Cunard has invested the equivalent of $172 million to refurbish its fleet over the past two years, spending $132 million on its flagship Queen Mary 2 in 2016 and $40 million dollars on the Queen Victoria in 2017. A similar refurbishment is expected for Queen Elizabeth in 2018.

Cunard has been the luxury cruise line of choice for queens, princesses, presidents, and Hollywood legends throughout the years. Countless travelers have enjoyed the Afternoon Teas and signature White Star Service that can only be found aboard Cunard’s luxury ocean liners. Cunard cruise deals are currently available, making it surprisingly affordable to enjoy a luxury Cunard cruise to the exotic destination of your choice.
