Getting ready for a Caribbean cruise vacation is very exciting. You want to be sure you don’t forget to pack anything that you might really want once you board your ship. Everyone remembers to pack their clothes, bathing suit, sandals, and sunglasses, but there are lots more things you might not think of.

Here at, we’ve put together a cruise packing list to help you with some of the things you might not think of. So get ready to learn what to pack for a cruise.

Traditional Things to Pack for a Caribbean Cruise

There are certain things you want to pack for every vacation, and you’ll want to pack most of those for the Caribbean too. You’ll pack summer clothes, and unless you want to pay a hefty fee for laundry services, you should pack enough for the entire trip.

Here are some of the common things you should pack for the hot and often humid weather in the Caribbean:

• Women – Shorts, slacks, tops, sundresses, 2 bathing suits, cover-up, shawl, sweater or lightweight jacket, walking shoes, sandals, flip flops. sun hat, something dressy (if your cruise line requires it), hygiene products, poncho, an umbrella.
• Men – Shorts, slacks, shirts, 2 swim trunks, t-shirt, sweater, jacket, sandals, flip flops, walking shoes, jacket and tie (if your cruise line requires it), rain gear, visor, hat.
• Men and Women – Modest clothing for visiting religious sites. sunglasses (an extra pair), sunscreen, aloe vera gel, insect repellent, personal toiletries, earplugs, chargers for phones and other electronics, storage disks for digital cameras, a power strip (cabins seldom have enough outlets), bag for dirty laundry, prescription medications, and over the counter drugs (very expensive in some areas.)

Non-Traditional Things to Pack for a Caribbean Cruise

• Men and Women – Water shoes, waterproof casing for camera or phone (underwater photos), magnetic hooks (for hanging swimsuits, towels, hats, and more) – rash guard shirt for extended time on the water, specialty gear for scuba diving, snorkeling, and golfing (can also be rented). binoculars, travel mug, lanyard for your pass card, small combination locks, waist bag for cash, cards, and phone (safer than handbag), travel adapter for plugs, portable fan, shower organizer, a tablet with several Netflix movies downloaded, sports watch, journal, and a lint brush,If you’re an avid reader and like some good fiction at bedtime. Bring a tablet with a few books downloaded for those early mornings and late-night reading times. The most important thing to bring on your cruise is a vacation mindset that is ready to have fun!
