We are closely monitoring the storm and will communicate any additional itinerary modifications as they become available.

The good news right now is that Puerto Rico seems to miss the most severe part of the storm and will hopefully escape without much damage.

As of Friday morning, the storm will most likely pass over the Bahamas and then make landfall in Florida anywhere between Daytona Beach and Miami. If you’re cruising from the eastern coast of Florida — ports like Miami, Port Canaveral, or Port Everglades — then the timing of the storm’s arrival will make a big impact on what will happen with your trip.

Also as of this morning, Carnival, Royal Caribbean and a handful of other cruise lines have made changes to itineraries to keep ships out of harm’s way. With this weekend being a very busy time for embarkation/debarkation of many sailings, more changes could come quickly if the storm makes landfall in Florida during the weekend. Right now landfall is predicted to be on Sunday afternoon as a Category 3 hurricane, but that could quickly change.

CruiseExperts.com will continue to monitor changes and let you know as we hear. The biggest change right now is the closing of Royal Caribbean’s CocoCay.

So what happens if my cruise is cancelled due to bad weather?
