What is Wave Season?
Wave season is an approximately three-month long “Black Friday” for cruise lines. From January 1st through March 31st, travelers start planning and booking their cruise vacations for the year. The cruise lines want your business and zealously lure cruisers with great prices, excellent perks, onboard spending credits, and some even offer free excursions. These three months are when the cruise lines roll out their best promotions for the year. During this time, you may be able to find free drink and dining packages, free WiFi, cabin upgrades, free onboard credit, and more.
Cruise lines are anxious to fill as many staterooms as they can to prevent the need to drop prices 30 to 60 days before sailing. Their goal is to get you to book early and with such great deals available, you can understand why it’s a great time to score a bargain.
