3) St. Michael’s Cathedral
This impressive Russian Orthodox Church is also known as Cathedral of St. Michael the Archangel. It was built in 1848, destroyed be a fire in 1966 but reconstructed shortly after the blaze destroyed it. It is one of the most important examples of Russian cultural influence in the United States.

4) New Archangel Dancers
These women give incredible 30-minute performances at Harrigan Centennial Hall that are meant to promote an interest in Alaska’s Russian history. The music, dance moves and costumes will impress you.

5) Raptor Center
The Raptor Center is Alaska’s foremost Bald Eagle hospital and education center. Volunteers at this center raise these incredible birds, administer medical treatment and release them into the wild. It is housed on almost 20 acres and is right next to the Tongass National Forest and Indian River in Sitka.
