What Holiday Festivities can I Expect on a Cruise?
Planning a cruise during the Holiday Season? Cruising is a great way to relax and truly enjoy the holidays without having to be burdened with all of the clean-up or stress about the details. Most of the cruise lines go out of their way to ensure your holiday experience will be one to remember, especially on one of their holiday cruises.
Christmas: Family cruising is big over the Christmas Holiday so you can expect plenty to do for the kids! On Christmas don’t be surprised if Santa comes aboard. For instance, on most Princess and Celebrity cruise ships you get to enjoy a truly white Christmas. Both cruise lines use snow machines during Christmas time. This is great because you get the traditional snowy Christmas without the cold. Other Christmas crowd favorites include caroling, Christmas music, and Christmas themed movies; which can be found aboard almost every major cruise line. But, what really brings the joy on this joyful holiday is the menu! In true Christmas fashion most cruise lines will provide you with an amazing Christmas feast and an abundance of special holiday snacks.
New Year’s Eve: The fun doesn’t stop with Christmas. On New Year’s Eve you can almost always expect a countdown followed by some mouthwatering bubbly. Most cruise lines also feature complimentary parties, live music, noise makers, and even balloon drops. An amazing New Year’s meal is also to be expected. If you are close to shore you may even be able to witness fireworks! What’s really terrific is that most lines offer babysitting for the kids with their own special events to bring in the New Year. Needless to say, if you’re on a holiday cruise during New Years, you are going to be at the party of the year!
