Cruiselines continually evolve and add one-of-a-kind activities and areas to their ships from theme park like waterslides and pool areas, to rock-climbing spaces, outdoor theaters and more. And now, Celebrity cruise ships’ newest vessel, the Celebrity Edge, is creating a space that is unlike anything else passengers have ever seen. Eden, a massive enclosed lounge area, will be introduced when the new cruise ship debuts late next year.
The goal of Eden is to offer cruisers an interactive experience that will delight all of the senses. Eden will offer everything from unique oceanviews, culinary experiences unlike any other, interactive shows, a garden and more. Plus, Eden’s head architect Scott Butler, specifically designed the space to change as the day continues, altering the experience from day to night. Here is a little more of what to expect when visiting Eden:
Morning/Afternoon: Visiting Eden during daylight hours offers a time of relaxation and serenity. Glass windows that tower three decks high and are ship-wide offer dramatic and breathtaking views of the ocean in every direction, turning your attention outward. Relax, have a drink, mingle with other guests, make new friends, or head down to a live culinary demonstration of how foods on the ship are prepared. You can also take in Eden’s garden that grows in an upward direction, with the ship’s skilled bartenders retrieving the fresh pieces they need to make you the ultimate cocktail.
Evening: Nighttime brings dinner, a show and an inward experience to Celebrity Edge’s Eden lounge. An interactive and unique show awaits after you are finished with your dinner. It will be something so out-of-this-world, you may wonder if you are part of the show or watching the show!
The new Celebrity Edge will be comprised of stunning, modern suites, expanded staterooms (some with 23 percent more square footage), and a private utopia called The Retreat – think sundeck, lounge, private butler service, private pool and more! This contemporary Celebrity cruise ship will also feature two bedroom/two bathroom Iconic Suites, plus Penthouse Suites. Guests can enjoy a rooftop garden and the Magic Carpet specialty restaurant. True adventurers will want to experience this “dinner on the edge,” as the Magic Carpet extends out from the ship and offers incredible views thanks to glass in almost every direction.
Currently, the Celebrity Edge is set to make her maiden voyage in December of 2018, out of her homeport of Fort Lauderdale. Itineraries will include a Western Caribbean option – visiting Costa Maya, Cozumel, Grand Cayman and Key West, plus an Eastern Caribbean option with stops in San Juan, St Maarten, and Tortola. The cruise line also plans to unveil three new cruise ships that will join the Edge between 2020 – 2022.
